Twilight comes out today, doesn't it? Or tomorrow. Either way, dudes . . . BRB, HANGING MYSELF.
(& also totally doesn't help that there is a grown man sitting next to me here in the bookshop reading that damn book. WILL WE NEVER BE FREE? & he took his shoes off to do it! WTF IT IS NOT THAT INTERESTING, MAN!)
O, & guess who finished Seasons of Fear yesterday? EIGHT/CHARLEY OMG. & OMG OMG CHARLEY. I LOVE HER EVEN MORE NOW. Charley = WIN. So expect more squee later this evening.
BUT NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO RANT & RAVE OVER SUCH THINGS.
The time has, however, finally arrived for the last instalment of my epic Withnail & I picspam! Ah, I loved doing this. & I hoped at least a couple of you enjoyed looking at it!

A few days ago, my mummy let slip that my British!Auntie's parents had recently purchased a house up in Northern California, somewhere in Sonoma, I believe. After they fix it up & whatnot, they're planning on living here four months out of the year, then the rest of the time, my aunt & her family can use it if they wish.
So what all of that means, is that I have a relative with a house in the country.
(& my aunt already said that maybe we could go up there for a weekend.)
& when Mother told me that, I said, 'Well then. That's worth me learning to drive, isn't it?' ('cause then the two of us could go up there for the weekend, or I could myself.)
So basically, minus the drugs & alcohol, plus anxiety-killing pills, I'm turning into a girl version of Marwood, aren't I?
Yeah, I thought so.

Alright, my darling kittens, here is my much babbled about first part of the epic picspam of the film Withnail & I. I swear, I would have had it up much sooner, but uploading all of those caps was a bitch & a half to do, honestly. Nevertheless, I hope those who gaze upon it enjoy it! (& then go & see the film. 'cause I can guarantee, you will laugh until you can't breathe.)
This spam & the goodies at the very end is all for the lovely miss velvet_midnight, because she is a darling & somehow, has not seen this film yet, even though I think she'd quite like it. I hope this is to your liking, bb!

I persuaded Mother to come & watch Withnail & I with me tonight. I swear, she was half-asleep during it, even if she claims otherwise. But she said she liked it, & that she liked it a lot more than she'd expected to. I of course, still adore it, even on the fourth viewing & I still laugh like the craziest of girls through most of it.
& I realised (I promise, I won't babble!) just why that girl, the girl that I had known so long ago, liked that film. When I remember her, I remember the sort of girlie she was & I realise, that would have been a perfect film for her. & she loved British things so much. & now, I wish I could ask her what she thought of it.
O, silly girlies we both were.
& I miss her still.

So. I'm sure a fair few of you are familiar with the community loves_them_all, which celebrates all those who've travelled with the Doctor throughout the years. I love that community; it's one of the things that helped me start watching the classic series & introduced me to so many amazing people who travelled with the Doctor. It's where I first met Romana & where I first met Harry & where I got a closer look at Sarah Jane - the companion who pulled me into classic!Who. It's how I discovered Susan & why I know I have to see at least one of her stories. Since then, I've dug all around the place, looking at various tributes & essays on all of the different people who've walked in & out of the TARDIS in the Doctor's nine centuries of life.
But, as far as I know, there's no similar community that celebrates the Doctor himself, in all of his different regenerations & timelines. I know some of the more popular of his regenerations have their own communities - off the top of my head, there's venusianakkido for Three & halfhumandoctor for Eight, though I know there are a few more out there.
But I'd really love to see one community where everyone can just discuss the Doctor, no matter what version, in one place. A single place, much like loves_them_all, where information, essays & all of that kind of stuff related to just the Doctor can be kept & those interested in learning more about past regenerations of the Doctor can go & have an easier time finding out what they want to know.
(Of course, I'm remembering how I had to find out about various Doctors - I still don't even know anything about about three of them - I just sort of picked up what I could find, by reading up on different companions, reading what others said about certain Doctors & basically, just scrabbling around in some very dim light for information because I had no idea of anywhere else I could look. & also, I HAVE been over to ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) idol_reflection & came up with almost nothing. ship_manifesto has a few Doctor Who related entries, but those are of a shippy nature, obviously, & I'd prefer to just read about the Doctor himself.)
So, I suppose, what I'm asking you bunnies is this: if there IS a community like that on LJ, & if there isn't, should there be one?
& also, this sort of stems from my sadness & slight annoyance of the slight lack of classic series related fanworks & things related to that - I know there's classicwho, but it's been a bit quiet lately, as greenbubblewrap's been, if my memory's right.
Basically, I want to see more classic!Who discussion, focused on the classic!Doctors & a little less on the new series. Like I said, it would also be nice to have such a place for those who know zippo about any classic Doctor to go & learn more, & for those that adore the original eight, to have a place that caters specifically to them.
(Or is this just me being mad bitchy that I can't find anyone who will flail/discuss/witter on with me about how fabulous Two is?)

I've a holiday tomorrow, not sure what I'll be doing though. I should finish up The Sarah Jane Adventures - gah, I've been so terribly lazy about watching the rest of it! (Bad Sunday, no cookies for you!) So maybe I'll do that tomorrow.
Edit: I'm listening to the Living Legend audio featuring Eight & Charley & OMG it's so cute. Charley dressed up as & pretending to be a Time Lady! (& she makes a very good one too!) Eight in proper Time Lord fashion! (I rather abhor the fashions of Gallifrey, but o, Eight & Four could wear them rather well . . .)

Just . . . I had so much to say tonight, but really, what is there left to say?
YES WE CAN. & YES WE DID.
I cried tonight, folks, out of sheer fucking happiness. AT LEAST TWICE.
I'm actually proud of this country for the first time in eight years. WE ARE DOING IT RIGHT.

Happy Halloween-Samhain, my darlings! (yes, I can properly say that, it's almost ten minutes into Hallyween for me here!)
I hope everyone has something lovely (or rather, scary!) planned for today. I myself do not, but I am watching The 100 Scariest Movie Moments on Bravo, which is a bit of a tradition for me. Yes, I know, not the smartest thing one should do before she lies her head down to sleep on Halloween Eve, but I like it! (& Leigh Whannell & Eli Roth are just so adorable & if their work wasn't so terrifying, I'd gladly see some of it!)
Supernatural was pretty nice tonight! ( snipsnipsnippy! )
Okay, back to being all spooked out for a bit! ::disappears in a puff of pink smoke::

Real recap later - lots o' pics! but a girl needs to catch up on her flist after three days away! (& OMG my Google Reader - ooo, reading materials! ::squee::)
Howeeeeever, three things:
- China Gunpowder loose leaf tea = made of win.
- The very little politicking that went on = was actually a lot of fun. It's great to be with normal human adults that you for the most part love for a weekend.
- Kittygirlie was very well fed & watered for her three & a half days of holiday!
